随着行业的继续发展，技术的飞跃突破，应用的大力推广，LED的光效也在不断提高，价格不断走低。新的组合式管芯的出现，也让单个LED管(模块)的功率不断提高。通过同业的不断努力研发，新型光学设计的突破，新灯种的开发，产品单一的局面也有望在进一步扭转。控制软件的改进，也使得LED照明使用更加便利。这些逐步的改变，都体现出了LED发光二极管在照明应用的前景广阔。    LED被称为第四代光源，具有节能、环保、安全、寿命长、低功耗、低热、高亮度、防水、微型、防震、易调光、光束集中、维护简便等特点，可以广泛应用于各种指示、显示、装饰、背光源、普通照明等领域。LED优点：电光转化效率高（接近60%，绿色环保、寿命长（可达10万小时）、工作电压低（3V左右）、反复开关无损寿命、体积小、发热少、亮度高、坚固耐用、易于调光、色彩多样、光束集中稳定、启动无延时；LED缺点：起始成本高、显色性差、大功率LED效率低、恒流驱动（需专用驱动电路）。 相比之下，各种传统照明存在一定的缺陷。白炽灯：电光转化效率低（10%左右）、寿命短（1000小时左右）、发热温度高、颜色单一且色温低；荧光灯：电光转化效率不高（30%左右）、危害环境（含汞等有害元素，约3.5-5mg/只）、不可调亮度（低电压无法启辉发光）、紫外辐射、闪烁现象、启动较慢、稀土原料涨价（荧光粉占成本比重由10%...

目前，深圳市鸿讯通电子科技有限公司LED应用在信号灯、显示屏、背光方面已经逐渐成熟，照明将成为未来市场发展的主要动力。未来几年佛山LED显示屏行业规模大约能保持年均20%～30%的增速，而佛山LED照明市场规模年增速将超过50%。 三要素缺一不可“根据目前深圳市鸿讯通电子科技有限公司LED产业发展的现状，具备三个要素的企业有望在惨烈的行业洗牌中胜出。一是技术基础；二是资金实力；三是社会资源。”深圳市鸿讯通电子科技有限公司研发部经理蔡总表示。 技术基础很重要。企业要引进真正的技术人才，最高管理层要有专业的眼光和行业判断能力。“如果企业仅仅重视设备产能的扩张，而不是技术的研发，很容易就被淘汰出局。”记者在采访中也发现，目前佛山LED照明产品还是以出口为主，规模大点的企业都是给飞利浦、欧司朗等企业做代工。质量好的照明产品，所用芯片也是以中国台湾、韩国的为主。“国产芯片质量比较差，亮度比进口的要低20%左右。”由此可见，国内芯片厂商如果不在技术上多加努力，将难以分享LED普通照明市场的盛宴。 LED要进入照明行业，一开始可能都是市政工程，因此企业拥有的社会资源也很重要。 具体到上市公司，上游芯片企业，如三安光电、德豪润达等，资金和社会资源方面实力较强，但技术基础较为欠缺。“不过，经过十几年的试错，目前三安光电在技术上也有了一些积累。”蔡总补充说。
